About my book, Thoughts of a Scientist, Citizen, and Grandpa on Climate Change
We are now live in critical moment in the history of human civilization and have a choice of monumental importance to make.
Are we or are we not going to aggressively address the issue of anthropogenic global warming? If we do, the short term costs and adjustments might be challenging, but if we don't, the longer term consequences are very likely to be horrendous - even during the lives of our grandchildren.
So, how do we decide which of these choices to make? For starters, we must learn what Mother Nature will actually do in response to the decisions we make - and what She does do can be predicted only via our understanding of the science involved. Therefore, a primary goal of Thoughts of a Scientist, Citizen, and Grandpa on Climate Change is to provide the general public with an improved understanding of the various causes of climate change. The economic and social aspects of addressing climate change are also important to us all and these topics will also be discussed.
Note that under the Order tab shown above: a second and updated (May 2012) version of this book in now available at all major bookstore outlets as well as for Kimble electronic books.
Note also the new Short Course tab: Recently (June 2012), I have also added a short course to this web site that deals more specifically with the basic science associated with climate change. To see it, just hit the Short Course tab.
Note also the new Blog tab: In order to provide extended discussions of any of the points raised here, the author is currently creating a new blog site at ericgrimsrud.wordpress.com.
